This is the era of databases involving a lot of transactions.

Often a database administrator is involved in routine management tasks, security, backups, updates, database tuning, managing ETL tools, monitoring disk utilization, troubleshooting errors, creating schemas and managing, scheduling and applying patches, etc. These tasks are automated using the decades of database automation, automating database infrastructure and cloud technology resulting in a fully autonomous database.

The companies in the field of the database are trying to do:

  • Transform into the modern cloud model
  • Ensure data safety
  • And do more with less

Oracle is one of those and introduced autonomous database.

A cloud database eliminating the human labor involved in the tasks of Database Administrators (DBA’s) is called an ‘autonomous database’.AD1
