AT&T to launch 5G for consumers using low-band 850 MHz spectrum<\/strong><\/p>\n

AT&T will be using<\/a> 850 MHz spectrum for its low-band 5G rollout, according to an AT&T spokesperson<\/p>\n

AT&T\u2019s 5G service will roll out in coming weeks in parts of the following markets: Indianapolis; Pittsburgh;\u00a0Providence, Rhode Island; Rochester, New York; and San Diego.<\/p>\n

Verizon completes DSS data call with Ericsson, Qualcomm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Verizon and its partners Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies conducted<\/a> proof-of-concept demonstration of dynamic spectrum sharing, which allows 5G service to run on multiple spectrum bands, including those historically reserved for LTE services.<\/p>\n

Verizon has said it plans to deploy DSS next year, leveraging the technology inside stadiums and entertainment arenas.<\/p>\n

The test measured communications within a train travelling at a maximum speed of 500KM\/h<\/p>\n

The Neva Jet smartphone will initially be available on existing networks 3G and 4G networks in select markets, starting with Poland. It will then be available on Orange\u2019s commercial 5G networks across Europe as they go live, starting with Romania in 2019 and followed by its other European markets in 2020.<\/p>\n

Germany opens door to private 5G networks with 3.7-3.8GHz licenses<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy announced<\/a> that businesses can apply to the ministry for the exclusive right to use some of the 100MHz of 3.7-3.8GHz spectrum in their networks, based on frequency fees established in Germany\u2019s Federal Law Gazette.<\/p>\n

Deutsche Telekom has protested the impact of the policies, which it claims have driven up prices for public spectrum while reducing corporate dependence on its networks<\/p>\n

S Korea to double 5G spectrum allocation by 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT announced<\/a> it would make an additional 2,680MHz of spectrum available by the end of the year 2026, putting the total amount of 5G spectrum in the South Korean market at over 5,320MHz.<\/p>\n

South Korean operators have racked up more than 2.5 million 5G subscribers in the months since launch, with SK becoming the first operator in the world to achieve 1 million 5G subscribers.<\/p>\n

France will not exclude China’s Huawei from 5G rollout: minister<\/strong><\/p>\n

French minister announced<\/a> that \u201cFrance will not follow the United States and exclude China\u2019s Huawei from its next-generation 5G network, but will have the power to vet all equipment makers for any potential security threat\u201d<\/p>\n

With support from Qualcomm, the new hub will be used to build domain-specific solutions that utilize the combinatorial power of AI, IoT and 5G technologies<\/p>\n

Ericsson Mobility Report: 5G subscriptions to top 2.6 billion by end of 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ericsson expects<\/a> the global number of 5G subscriptions to top 2.6 billion within the next six years, driven by sustained momentum and a rapidly developing 5G ecosystem<\/p>\n

5G to cover up to 65 percent of the world\u2019s population by the end of 2025 and handle 45 percent of global mobile data traffic. Total number of cellular IoT connections estimated at five billion by the end of 2025, from 1.3 billion by end of 2019<\/p>\n

2020 will see 5G smartphone sales explosion: IDC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Analysts at IDC believe<\/a> shipments will increase by 1.5 per cent to 1.4 billion this year, with 5G smartphones totaling 190 million.<\/p>\n

Cisco has won a patent detailing how it could leverage blockchain to secure the data in 5G telecommunication networks.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The company submitted a patent application in June 2018 for a blockchain platform that can be natively integrated in wireless networks, according to a Nov. 26 filing from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)<\/span><\/h1>\n
